The Avella Farmers Market is a service project of  the Avella Area Community Association.  The Association recognizes the importance of maintaining an economically sustainable agricultural environment for the Avella area farms.  The Association also recognizes the importance of a market where consumers can  purchase local foods and have the opportunity to talk directly with the farmer.

The vendors of the Farmers Market are very eager to get to know you -- and to sell you locally grown produce, home-baked goods and hand-made crafts.

After all, wouldn't you rather eat a tomato grown in Avella than in China or Peru?

Avella is located in a rural area of natural beauty, surrounded by rolling farmlands.  Nearby the farm market, visitor can also find Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Museum or Rural Life, Cross Creek County Park, The A D White Historical Society and the Village Tack Arena.

A Sunday drive to the Avella Farmers Market can combine good food, history and natural beauty.  Plan your trip today with our on-line directions.

For our inaugural year of 2007, the market board consists of: Kris Painter & Marcy Tudor, Market Managers and Members, Brian Bell, John Tyler Doaks, Bev Romanetti, Beth Smith and Frank Zrimm. Board members and vendors alike have worked to make the Avella Farmers Market not only the place to buy fresh, buy local -- but also a memorable experience.
