The produce available at the Avella Farmers Market is freshly picked and sold by the farmer (our farmers all live within 10 miles of the market!) Produce in the supermarket can spend as many as seven to fourteen days and 1,300 miles in transit before arriving on the supermarket shelves.  Produce for our May 25th market should include bedding plants and early spring greens and green onions. And eggs (if the chickens cooperate)

And while you're at the market, don't forget to stock up on baked goods, honey,  and hand-made crafts.

As always, thanks for shopping with your local farmers -- and remember that the early shopper gets the prime produce! Please tell your friends and family about the Avella Farmers Market. If you haven't already -- sign up for our weekly EMail Newsletter at the bottom of this page. Thanks!

Although the market doesn't open until the 10 AM bell, stop by early to peruse the goods and enjoy a pastry. This week CR Pastries will be offering hot sausage sandwiches, wedding soup, hot dogs and soda pop.

Each week, the Avella Farmers Market invites an area non-profit to set up at the market to sell produce, home-baked goods and hand-made crafts? Interested? Call Marcy Tudor @ 724.587.3763

The Avella Market is proving that farmers market do help revitalization. There’s a sense of community – with people reconnecting and making new friends.

The Avella Market will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Avella Fire Hall parking lot, just north of route 50 on the east end of town
